Chapter 1: Holidays.
"Get up, you fool!" Robert shouted.
"What's your problem? Don't you understand the concept of beauty sleep?" I retorted.
"Oh, shut up! It's time for school!" Robert replied.
"Yea, right! The holidays won't end till the day after tomorrow, you douche!" I hissed.
The holidays were coming to an end and Robert had already been even more irritating than he already was during the holidays. I figured I could go cycling... Holidays were boring. I climbed out of bed and changed out of my pyjamas.
I could hear the clanking of the plates and I knew Mum was preparing breakfast. As I walked down the stairs, I could hear Robert chanting, "Food! Food! Food! Food!..". Annoyed I was but I was too sleepy to care. I sat beside him and looked around for my cutlery.
"Whats for breakfast, Mum?" I asked.
"Stuff... like your favourite stuff. Pancakes!" she shouted from the kitchen counter.
I waited impatiently knowing that I would be eating pancakes for breakfast.
After eating, I grabbed stepped out of the house, grabbed my bike and started cycling around the neighborhood. "Hey, Jeffrey!" a familiar voice yelled from behind.
It was Raj, cycling a few metres away from me. He was my classmate in the previous year and he lives in the same area as me, thats why I him so often. I was actually hoping that I wouldn't see him today.
"Hey..." I murmured. I started cycling faster to lose him, but my attempt was proved futile when he asked me to slow down. I was trying my best not to show how irritated I was at him. We were cycling at the same speed now... "Great...".
As I cycled past the school, I saw her.
Evelyn was the most attractive girl in my school. I haven't really talked to her at all since she joined the school when she was Secondary 2. She and I were the same age.
She smiled at me... I was shocked... to think she actually noticed me. I smiled back with the best smile I could make. She laughed. Sigh... I looked so dumb with that smile of mine. I wasn't paying attention and bumped into a tree. I flew off my bike and hit the road like a ragdoll. "Nice..." I murmured as I lost consciousness.
When I regained consciousness, I was at the park, lying on the grass, Evelyn was sitting a few metres away from me, leaning against a tree. I got up and saw that my hand was bandaged. I glanced at Evelyn. She must've bandaged it for me. "Thanks..." I mumbled, thinking she wouldn't hear.
"You're welcome" she said as she smiled at me. I couldn't stand her smile, it was so... elegant... so Evelyn-ish. I blushed and I guess she saw it because the next thing I heard was her giggling.
I wanted so much to talk to her... but I knew I would stutter and sound so stupid... still it was worth a shot.
"Hi...", I began.
